Dusting off the ol' blog

Almost one year later, I'm back...and what a year it's been. I'm taking my life back in multiple ways. I'm creating work that I absolutely love, and making sure that I have work/life balance, at least most of the time! I recently signed up for Weight Watchers as I just have not been happy with the number on the scale continuing to climb. I also signed up for my first ever half-marathon and am starting training this week for it as I put it off until after our big event production was done (which was a huge success).

As I logged in to this site, I noticed my last post here is just short of a year ago. My how time flies! For the most part, I don't feel like I've 'needed' this place to clear my head, vent, or just post those crazy thoughts in my head to free them from cluttering up my head space. However, I do want to get into a regular writing pattern, which could be here, on my personal blog, or on my company blog, moving forward. For the longest time, I've said I'm not a good writer, yet when I sit and take the time to actually do it, the final product isn't that bad.

So why do I do that? Maybe it's because I don't want to set my expectations too high only to set myself up for failure. Or maybe it's because it's really hard for me sometimes to get a thought out in a way that makes sense to those reading and not just to myself. Both of these thoughts tend to weave themselves around OTHERS, and no offense to those reading this (all 4 of you!), but I don't write for you. This place is one for me to express myself which shouldn't revolve around my grammar, cohesive thoughts, or pleasing others. As for my personal blog, that's more of a public place for thoughts and things I love and my company blog, well...that's the place where I do want to be 'on my game', which I think will flourish as I promise to write here and on my personal blog.

So with all of that being said, I hope to be back more often; not because life is out of control, but because I want to be. NaBloPoMo is also kicking off soon which is a great motivation to get my fingers dancing on the keyboard.
